If you think that fast food type restaurants have the same prices around the world, you are mistaken. Although the taste is the same (with some alternation in the menu), with the same amount of money you can buy a lot in one country and little in another.
At crazyfeed.com we investigate what fast food we can buy with 10 euros in different countries around the world from most famous fast food chains, so you know what to get when you travel. We tried to select a similar set of dishes, but we added a little local touch.
Russia is among those countries where McDonald’s and KFC are the most accessible and with this money two people could eat. So if you plan to travel to the World Cup, you know what’s in store for you.
According to The Economist, similar prices exist in Indonesia, Vietnam and Poland. In contrast, Starbucks is not so cheap and is almost at the level of the US.
Similar prices are found in Israel, Canada and Finland.
Switzerland: McDonald’s and Starbucks more expensive
McDonald’s and Starbucks are super expensive in Switzerland. Similar figures are found in Norway and Sweden. They do not have KFC.
In Spain, as in Germany, France and most European countries, McDonald’s is not that cheap.
In Britain prices at McDonald’s are intermediate. Similar prices are found in countries like Argentina, Chile, Thailand, Japan, Czech Republic, Singapore and Greece. In relation to Starbucks, the price is similar to that of China, India, Japan, Greece and Australia.
Brazil: Starbucks more accessible
Brazil is a country of contrasts. McDonald’s prices are some of the highest. KFC costs less, there you can eat a crazy sandwich Big Crocante (as in the picture). But instead, Starbucks is the cheapest in the world.
In Turkey the prices are uniform. The prices of McDonald’s and KFC are among the lowest in the world, at the level of Hungary, Saudi Arabia, China, India, Mexico and Poland. Also a latte at Starbucks has a fairly affordable cost, almost like in Argentina, Chile and Canada.
Hong Kong (China)
According to the magazine The Economist , which for 30 years has published the “Big Mac Index”, this hamburger in Hong Kong is one of the most accessible. But in general, you can not buy much with € 10 here. Also, other fast food chains are quite expensive.
Egypt: Cheaper McDonald’s and KFC
McDonald’s in Egypt is the cheapest in the world and with 10 euros two people could eat well. The same prices you would find in Ukraine, Malaysia, South Africa and Taiwan.
